Wicked Wednesday

That is the only way I can describe my mood. I was not in a good mood since I was on my way home from work. I know it has nothing to do with being frugal but needed to get that out.

Tonight I made dinner. Which was a pork roast and some potatoes. I will use the leftovers to make fried rice. Now don't get to excited it comes out of a box. I just happen to have some and my son loves it. I don't but hey it will feed him.

Also working on picking up here and getting a load of wash done. I am amazed every time I open a new bottle of soap and how long it lasts since I use a lot less than the "recommend". Did use the dryer since it takes forever for the clothes to dry in the house during the winter.

Managed to pay off another medical bill this morning. I only have 3 more to go. I am hoping to have saved enough next week to pay off another. Then I will be hitting the big ones. The good news is I have not made any new ones. Between both insurances we don't have any new bills from the doctor.

I need to get my son's dentist bill paid off. Which will happen next time I get paid. Tomorrow is March 1 and I am going to be tracking ALL my spending. I need to get it undercontrol. I have been a little to happy with the spending.

It has been a long time and I really need to get to reading all the great frugal blogs out there.

Back in Frugal Mode

For the last 2 days I have been in frugal mode. I noticed in all the areas I was slacking. Turning up the heat, eating lunch out, wasting leftovers. Well I put a serious stop to all that. I have been taking my lunch to work. Right now I am waiting for the hard boiled eggs to finish. I will be getting my lunch ready since I know that tomorrow I am going to be leaving early. I want it to be ready to put in my lunch bag and go. I have been bringing soda to work beats the 55 cents I was putting in the machine. I do plan on cutting back on soda and going with water. We get a free soda on Friday. I would love to get that down to just the free soda.

I stopped on the way home and bought one of those precooked chicken. I had some for dinner tonight. Will be making chicken salad with the rest. So we should get at least 3 or 4 meals out of that one chicken.

I have not stopped for coffee yet this week. I know it is only Tuesday but for awhile it was a 3 or 4 times a week. Now I am allowing myself one cup and only when I work both jobs the day before. So that won't be an every week thing either.

This weekend I am going to be working on my budget for March. I am only using the income from one job. Since the income from the second job is being saved for my son's summer trip to Georgia to see his dad.

Also plan on making a whole turkey which will be some lunches for me next week. I love Turkey so I could eat it all the time.

I have only been using the cash in my purse so money is staying in the bank where it belongs.

Back to normal

I so missed not being able to get up in the morning and turn on the computer. One of the things I always did was check my bank balance. I seem to have more control over my account when I could see what the daily balance was. This morning when I got up that is what I did. Checked to see what my account looked like. I am more of a quick daily balancer than a once a month balancer. Right now since I have no checkcard - thought I lost it and cancelled that puppy quick. The only money that can come out is if I write a check or go to the bank. I have enough cash in my wallet to last until next Friday which is the next time I get paid. How often do you balance your checkbook?

Finally I am back -- life in frugal mode

Well I am finally back to being able to blog! I have missed my computer so much. I got a brand new HP computer with the new Vista and lightscribe technology with a printer.

I had been watching the ads and emailing the computers on sale to a friend who works for HP. I wanted an HP since he would be able to help me with any tech things. So I am already to put down a load of CASH! Yes that is correct this puppy is 100% mine -- no credit - no payments. And the sales guy sales well if you sign up for roadrunner you save 150.00. GOOD like that...then the bomb drops.....you will also want the Geek Squad to come and set up your computer ---- and it is on special for $150.00!! Break!!! I go outside and call my HP buddy. I tell him the whole story and the Geek Squad part. Um.......nope don't need that. So I go in and the guy is like you want a-b and c. Nope do not want C. Should have seen his face. Ha -- a smart shopper.

So I got my computer, a cd player for B and of course the protection plan. That is something that I do believe in when I buy big purchases.

Now I am done spending. I am getting back into frugal mode and back on a budget. I have been slacking in that area for a bit.

Only a few more days --- and I am back

I will be picking up my brand new computer with Microsoft Vista on Friday. Paid for IN CASH! I can't wait to be back and become a frugal blogger again.
