First off I have managed to save $14.00 next week. I buy my son a bus pass and I buy myself 10 bus tickets a week. Each are 14.00. He has either been home or there has been no school. So I take his pass (which I can use legally) and save my tickets. So times a lady who lives close to me gives me a ride home so that saves a ticket. I have managed to save enough tickets that I don't have to buy any tickets for next week.
I plan on making some honey wheat bread this weekend. Sounds yummy and heck warms up the house a bit. I am also going through the kitchen and pantry to see what we have and plan some meals. I know we have a ton of food since I had done a huge shopping about a week or so before my Dad passed. We had not been home enough to eat it.
I also want to see what else we have in there. I know I have some Christmas presents I bought last year for this year. Some really cute picture frames. I think I am going to find a picture of my Dad and put those in there for my sister and stepmom.
Budget for Jan. is another thing I want to start working on. Has anyone else thought of where they want to be next year at this time. Barbados crossed my mind this morning when it was only 8 degrees here. I am going to do a 12 month plan of frugality. So for a whole month I will concentrate on only one thing. For example: Jan. how much extra can I pay on the medical bills. Some are going to be more fun challenges too. I love a good challenge.
Well almost time for me to start work. I am really starting to love my job!
Have a great one and see ya Monday with something new.

Rambling thoughts of my Dad and Frugal life.
Every night I talk to my stepmom. It makes me sad that my Dad had to pass away for us to be so much more open with each other. To tell each other that we love you before we hang up. Mind you my Dad said it every day. I miss my Dad so much every day.
Before my Dad passed away they had a talk about when her time comes. My sister lives in Chicago and owns a house, and would never move back here. I however do not own a house, nor did I plan on buying one. Well some day my Dad's house will be mine. I don't want the house any time soon. It was so nice to know they were thinking of me and my son. I just assumed we would sell the house and go from there.
My stepmom and I talk alot about saying money and living frugally. I was so shocked when she said I have to stop spending and live a frugal life. Not that my Dad was ever a big spender. He believed in keeping a dollar in his pocket. Yet he was willing to help out those in need. Now that she is alone - well the dog is there I am sure things are much harder than before. Some ways things will be less expensive. She won't have to buy much food or cigarettes. The light bill will go down. She cancelled some of the stuff on cable, and only is getting the paper on Sunday now.
We even shared how much debt we have. She could not believe my student loan bills but I really did not have a choice in that matter. I had to finish school and raise B. Not that we were living high off the hog. So now with Jan. around the corner it is time to put the budget in motion. I plan to have a lot of stuff paid off next year and only have my student loans to worry about.
