Sorry I have not been here at all. As many of you know my Dad was sick and I was spending lots of time with him.
I am sorry to say my Dad passed away on Nov. 18 at 3:27 pm. With his family gathered at his bedside.
He was buried on Nov. 24, 2006 with full military honors.
I will be back soon I promise.
I hope everyone had a safe and happy Thanksgiving.

Another medical bill bites the dust!
Yes today I paid $10.28 on a medical bill and it is HISTORY! Now to work on the next one. The cool thing also is they take payments online. So every payday I can make my payment. I have direct deposit so the morning of payday, I can make the payment and be done with it. No checks to write and no stamps to use.
I have roughly $771.00 left to pay. My goal is to get this paid off by the end of Jan. I do know that since I am now working full time. They will try and come after me.
I hope to not use my new insurance until all these bills are paid. No use in making new bills before I can get the old ones paid off. The sooner they get paid off the sooner I can buy my new computer.
Have a great weekend and if you believe in the power of pray...my Dad could use them. He is back in ICU.

Back to Frugalness
This weekend I had a few moments that opened up my eyes on why I choose to live a more frugal lifestyle.
First a person I work with at Walgreens has been more or less asking for money advice. She came to me over the weekend since she overdrew her checking account. I asked by how much and she said over $400.00! I told her when we get paid on Wednesday to come over and bring me her check stub. So we can get her on a budget. She also has a credit card she has not paid on since JUNE! Her parents do not seem to give her advice on how to handle money or a checking account.
Next my sister bought a new car. She can not afford this car. She is barely making it now and works two jobs. Her husband died about 2 years ago and basically all the insurance money is gone. She spent way to much on the funeral. My personal feelings are do not spend that much money on my funeral. I am not going to be there anyways. My Dad had a fit about her buying a new car....since he knows she is spending way more than she can afford.
I do need to step up my frugalness more. I will say when you work full time there are some things you do need to give up on the frugal front. I can no longer hang ALL my laundry. I can still hang a good portion of it but not all of it. I do bring my lunch to work. I can still cook ahead and make sure we eat at home. I try to buy clothes that are machine washable and not dry clean only. I am sure there are other things but come on it is only 7:50 AM and raining here. Does not make the brain work well. LOL
Have a good day! And all full time or even part time employees. Share with me some of your frugal tips.

Hello Everyone!
Well the last 3 weeks have been interesting. I started my new job and my Dad got sick. Nothing can go smooth in this life for me.
My Dad has cancer. It is not curable but it is treatable. I sure wish he had gone to the Doctor a lot sooner than he did. He had surgery last week for a different issue and is doing well. I hope he is home this weekend. His birthday is on Saturday so I would rather he spent it at home.
I need to really go back to working on being frugal. Spending so much time at the hospital did not leave much time for cooking, handing wash etc. I am trying though.
I hate to say it but I made a HUGE error in my checkbook and it cost me dearly. Need to pay attention to that.
Goals for Nov.
1. pay off 200.00 in medical bills
2. make (done) and stick to my budget.
I have been great at bringing my lunch. Now I need to just stay out of the vending machines. I am putting myself on an allowance.
Hey I also turned 39 last month too. I will update more and get back into frugal mode. I just wanted to pop in and say hello.
