Cell phone news and other information

Finally I made a decision about my cell phone. I was ready to go to prepaid and figured out the cost of a new phone and what I would pay monthly. I looked at my current carrier and made what I thought was the final decision. I was all ready to go to cingular and needed my account number. I called to get it and when they asked me why...I told them if they can not give me a reasonalbe price on a phone than I was going elsewhere. I had already stopped at the mall and the phone I was looking at 2 weeks ago went up $50.00 in price. I needed a new phone as mine is on its last leg. My contract is up on the 20th. Never thought I would see that day come. So I was transfered to a different department. Where they offered me the razor phone for $10.00. Now that is an awesome deal on a phone. This phone retails for at least 100.00. Also the plan they offered me was what I expected to pay a month in prepaid. So my new phone will be here tomorrow.

I have another job interview with the Big Casino here. It is for a Marketing Admin job doing some of the things I did at my old job. Keeping my finger crossed. I figure if I can find a job making at least what I was making. Keep working at Walgreens we can move in late fall or for sure in the spring. We need to move the neighborhood is going to crap and my landlord sucks. I can't even wash clothes because of the filth in the basement. I am going to have to get the wagon out and take the clothes to the laudromat soon if they don't get it cleaned up.

Finally have my food stamp issue fixed. So we are still eating out of the pantry and freezer. My freezer is almost empty now though. So I will be putting everything in the kitchen and turning it off till I can fill it again. Glad I have it though it was a huge lifesaver.

Frugal Update

Sorry it has been awhile. I have been picking up whatever hours I can at work. Also been job hunting big time. I do have an interview with a staffing agency on Wednesday. WOO HOO!

Today I needed to pick up and do some wash. I was going to put one load in the dryer but instead I put my work pants, jeans and shirt outside. We have a nice wind going and the rest are hanging inside. Rain is expected and running out to get the laundry is not in my plans. I also have to go into work an hour early today. So really only needed my work pants dried in time. The rest can dry on its own. I have most of the laundry sorted. B's is in his room so I can't get to it. I will be working on the rest when I am off on Monday. Also it is suppose to be nice out so perfect for hanging out the wash.

More or less got the food stamp thing sorted out. I do think they have the numbers wrong. They are thinking I have income from a job I am not working at. So next week I will have to call and have them send me a letter saying I no longer work there. I am only getting 36.00 for June and 18.00 in July. I was worried at first how am I going to feed us on that. Well I figure I will go to the butcher and get the $20.00 meat deal.

This was June's:
2 Boneless Stuffed Pork Chops
1 Whole or Cut-up Chicken
1 lb Ground Chuck
2 lbs Country Style Ribs
1 lb Homemade Bratwurst
2 Chicken Patties (pre-cooked)

I get the whole chicken as I can make it last longer. I still have some meat in the deep freezer. Soon though it is going to be empty and I will unplug it till I can fill it again.

I should be able to use the rest of my stockpile and only spend $50-$60 on food. I figure I can hit Aldi's for some staples and check out the farmer's market for produce. Plus my tomatoes and cucumbers are coming in well. That should help a bit too. Since both my son and I are wanting to lose weight. I need to make sure I cook less but let it be healthy and filling. I am also going to check out one of the local food pantries for food.

I am still good on all HBA products and paper goods. So no need to buy those. Of course I am hanging laundry. I have a hard time even allowing myself to use the dryer. I feel it is such a waste of 1.00 to put clothes in the wash. Once I am working full time and part time I will have to organize my time to get things washed and hung up to dry.

The goal for July. Get a budget going and track everything spent. That is such a hard issue for me and I don't know why.
